Ravin de Mainmorte

Wonderful and often dry descent running through an inaccessible gorge. The last rope descent is really fantastic and leads into the water of the Verdon, a little under the Imbut passage. In spite of the lack of water, the Mainmorte is a must, also beacuse of the wonderful surroundings offered by the Verdon bed. Caution! Before entering into the canon, ask fro information about the stream of the Verdon, which must not overcome 4 cubic meters per second (ask at the Maline shelter or call the phone numbers written on the sign placed at the beginning of the approach path). In case of a bigger stream, there's no way to rise up the Verdon till the Imbut.
