Rio Lerca

Easy and funny gorge, ideal for beginners. The water of the Lerca digged deep pools between the Rama mount and the Argentea. Because of the nature of the rocks, the gorge offers an overhanging side and a sloping one which, in a few passages, allow to avoid the water.

Access: leave highway A10 at Arenzano and reach the SS1 road, heading right towards Cogoleto. A few hundreds meters after the "Colletta" hill, turn into the road going down on the right. Pass under the highway bridge, then after two bends pass a junction going on the main road and reach the Coop market. Turn left; in a few the narrow road crosses a bridge, then rises with bends for about 500 m. Park nearby a farm, on the left a track takes to the river bed from where we will come back.

Approach: follow the raod until you reach the end. You will find a water-tap. Then follow a non-asphalted road leaving from the right of the spring and rising, halfway by the hill, along the left bank of the rio Lerca; following the "canyon" signs, the road quickly takes to a hump where we leave the road for a mule track, first going down for a few meters and then rising up, giving the chance to catch some glimpses of the river. Once at the end of the pine-wood, near a wide curve on the left, go down along a stone extent (indication sign) following the track until we meet on the left side, about one hundred meters beyond, a tree with a big white painted sign. We go down through the bushes and reach the river bed.

Coming back: the exit from the bed is on the left bank. Once you reach waterpipe take a flat path on the left.
